Sunrise without the sun? Buntal is the place for it.
Monday (13th Oct) 3.15A.M- I received a call from Aelred , "Dude, Its raining so heavily. What do we do?" The thunder and lightning were so loud that time. Rain pouring heavily. I was rather disappointed. We decided to wait for a while, see what happens. Half an hour later, the rain toned down but thunders and lightning were still roaring. I made the bald decision to go to Buntal as planned.
Aelred was our driver, though he isn't into photography. I, on behalf of Seth and Dawson and myself would like to thank him for waking up so early to drive us there. 20KM away from town, the whole journey were wet roads and drizzle. All we could do was pray that it doesn't rain at Buntal. Miraculously, it didn't! And so we reached there at about 5.45A.M. Unloaded our tripods and equipments. We arrived 20 minutes later than scheduled so we were racing against time. As soon as we paced down the seaside, all we could possibly hear was the water lapping and our own laughter.
3 of us-Seth, Dawson and I walked back and forth to scout for nice angles. Not surprisingly, there wasn't any sun. What is a sunrise without a sun, eh? On the upside, the clouds spread quite nicely for a dramatic feel.

Am sorry for the tiny res. That's the limit of my blog template. Click here for a bigger picture.

This was the color of the sunrise. Not very appealing when its about to rain, sadly.

Big guy, Big lens.

Tired driver.

And then, just 45 minutes after we arrived at Buntal. We could literally see the rain chasing after us. Since it was a long beach, we ran for our lives once we saw the rain hit shore. Ah!!!! It was as if tsunami was coming. The villagers standing nearby were looking at these "tangkap gambar punya orang" running like mad chickens.

Could the weather have been better? Certainly. But we had a fun time laughing our ass off Aelred's unorthodox ways of "expressing his thoughts".
Looking forward to the next trip there :)

Miaow...
I was blessed to be able to try out the Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens fitted on a Canon 400D.
Very simple. A good lens shooting a RM800 cat. How cool is that? :P
Recently, more and more people are jumping into the SLR bandwagon at very early ages. During my time when I was in Form 3, I was probably the only one in my age to own an SLR. Now, you see SLRs everywhere. Even those that are under 10 years of age! It has its pros and cons I must say. Good news is they get to explore their talents at early age. Bad news is that some just buy an SLR just because it looks cool and then set everything to Auto mode. It pisses the hell outta me!!! I really hope any one of you out there that plans to buy an SLR, please make full use of it. Do not put those great features installed in the camera to waste. :)
Now that I'm in Form 5, I am very happy to have a small group of photography enthusiast sharing the same interest as me!

Its the Milk Bottle!!
I got this cute milk bottle fan for RM10 from my friend. Comes in handy when in times of need. But that wasn't the reason I bought this milk bottle. It's because, well, it's cute!!!*shrugs*
I tried a couple of shots with the bottle. This was what I came up with using my flash fired wireless-ly.

The high key effect on the last 2 shots weren't edited. The flash was fired from behind and a reflector placed in front. The overexposed shot looks really nice :D

Impressionism
I'm having my mock exams going on now. Lots of things going on. Had my first wedding shoot last week. I have tonnes of photos sitting in my computer waiting to be filtered.
This shot is an attempt to create an impressionist feel to the photo. I did a bit of tweaking to the color when my friend on Facebook noticed that the photo was a bit too warm.

This shot looks very familiar eh? Got this concept from one of Vista's wallpaper. :D

Smile!
Damn I feel that the "Photos:" tag on every series of photos I post up is kinda dull and "mono". So today onwards, its just the title!! :D
These are 2 shots I took during a pre-Merdeka celebration assembly at my school. Just so happen to pull the magazine photographer and grabbed his camera for some shots.
It was a Olympus E-520 mounted with a Olympus Zuiko 40-150mm lens. Their crop factor on the 3/4 system makes their focal length very unorthodox. Candid shots are one of my favourite.
If only Malaysians where more open, then street photographers will have a much easier job. :D
I am very sorry bout the pimples. I do not know how to use the clone tool and healing brush very well so I chose to left it that way. It's because of the boost in contrast that made it much more visible than it actually is.
Comments, anyone?
